My practice currently explores my relationship to observing and connecting with landscapes. I immerse myself in landscapes, to connect with the land. I observe. I notice the lines in the land, formed by time and movement. I notice forms, structures, patterns.
I never intend to make a ‘picture’, I’m more interested in atmosphere, an emotional reaction to my surroundings. I find some aspect of the landscape that interests me and focus on that and try to commit to making marks that are representational but not realistic.
This is an area for observing and experimenting with mark-making, drawing, printmaking and collaging
