My practice currently explores my relationship to observing and connecting with landscapes. I immerse myself in landscapes, to connect with the land. I observe. I notice the lines in the land, formed by time and movement. I notice forms, structures, patterns.

 

I never intend to make a ‘picture’, I’m more interested in atmosphere, an emotional reaction to my surroundings. I find some aspect of the landscape that interests me and focus on that and try to commit to making marks that are representational but not realistic.​
